Rotary International is a global service organization made up of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  Rotary is made up of over 34,000 individual clubs in 200+ countries, with 1.2 million members worldwide.

The Penfield Rotary Club is located in District 7120, which includes the counties of Allegheny, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates, and the Town of Pavilion in Genesee County.  There are 69 clubs in the District.

Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self”.  Rotary brings together the kind of people who step forward to take on important issues for local communities everywhere.  In addition to service, Rotarians seek to promote high ethical standards in business and professions.  To achieve this, we use what is called the Four Way Test.  Of the things we think, say, or do, we ask ourselves:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
