Ten years ago Penfield Rotary began the Bike Drop in collaboration with Penfield Recreation and R Community Bikes. Keep those old or unwanted bikes out of our landfills by donating them to a good cause!
All bicycles collected will be donated to R Community Bikes, Inc. for repair and redistribution to needy children and adults in the Rochester area. All types of bikes are needed, including children’s tricycles, toddler plastic bikes and bike parts. Receipts will be available.
R Community Bikes (RCB) is a grassroots, 501(c)3 organization, staffed entirely by volunteers, that collects and repairs used bicycles for distribution, free of charge, to the Rochester, NY area’s most needy children and adults. We give away over 2,000 bicycles every year and do over 3,000 repairs for our clients, many of whom depend on bicycles as their main source of transportation. Starting in 2014, we began providing tricycles to disabled individuals who wouldn’t otherwise be able to ride. In addition, we supply bicycles or repair services to dozens of community organizations, including church groups, youth centers, and neighborhood associations.

Come join us to meet Penfield Rotarians and visit a a beautiful Penfield Cidery! About Oak & Apple Cidery Oak & Apple is a small husband-and-wife run Cidery. They like to say they are a farm to glass small-batch Cidery. It is all done on their farm here in Penfield New York, from growing and pressing their apples to fermenting, aging and bottling their ciders. They do everything in-house because that way they know the taste of their cider will stay as good as the day they made it and because they love the process. |
