For Junior High School Students only. Take pictures throughout the process
1) Determine the number of students the club will support in the oratorical competition. Verify the stipend that will be provided to the student(s) even if they do not place in the competition. Get commitments from club members to volunteer for event.
2) Obtain the oratorical contest application and infomration from the district, including dates, etc.
3) Contact the High School Principal to make an appointment to talk about oratorical contest and ask for contacts in the english / guidance department. Have school secretary set up the initial meeting between Rotary and the school.
4) Meet with the Principal and the music individuals and explain the oratorical contest rules and what it entails. Provide general dates of activities. Provide what the scghool needs to do and what Rotary needs to do. Also provide the potential benefits and/or monetary rewards.
5) Obtain the name of the student(s) selected by the school to participate in the oratorical competition
6) Send in oratorical application fee to the district for each student
7) Mentor the student(s) as necessary or appropriate
8) Provide the dates/times and locations for the oratorical competition regionals and the finals to the Principal and vocal contacts.
9) Coordinate with student and parents to get the student to the needed regional location
10) Coordinate with the student andparents to get the student(s) to the needed finals location
11) Attend the regional and final performances of the student(s)
12) Coordinate with district oratorical chair to obtain any student monetary winnings
13) Coordinate with the club secretary to create and obtain the stipend check
14) Coordinate with the student(s), parents and school to provide the check and any monetary winnings.
15) Follow up anytine as necessary to keep the student(s), school, club and parents informed of the upcoming activities.

Come prepared with shoes/boots that can get wet and gloves! You will get messy! Large garbage bags will be provided but it works well if you have a 5 gal bucket to carry around with you!

Since 2008, they've given away 34,566 bikes and repaired 45,015!

R Community Bikes (RCB) is a grassroots, 501(c)3 organization, staffed entirely by volunteers, that collects and repairs used bicycles for distribution, free of charge, to the Rochester, NY area’s most needy children and adults. They give away over 2,000 bicycles every year and do over 3,000 repairs for thier clients, many of whom depend on bicycles as their main source of transportation. Starting in 2014, they began providing tricycles to disabled individuals who wouldn’t otherwise be able to ride. In addition, they supply bicycles or repair services to dozens of community organizations, including church groups, youth centers, and neighborhood associations.

SAVE THE DATE! Our June 11th club meeting will be a cookout starting at 5:30.  Family and friends are welcome.  Hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers will be supplied.  We will ask everyone to bring a dish to pass.  A sign up will be sent out closer to the date.  
 

Join the Penfield Business Chamber as it hosts PENFEST - a fun-filled festival that will take place on Friday, June 14th at Penfield Recreation/Community Center (field), Penfield NY from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., rain or shine!

The PENFEST, which is open to the public and Free to attend, resulted in an attendance of over 600 last year! This is a great opportunity for PBC Member businesses, local area businesses, and vendors to gain some awareness and visibility to their products and services, as well as engage and network with attendees and other vendors!

June 15th we will participate in Flag day to support Veterans Outreach . We will be outside Lisa's liquor Barn from 12-3.  Please let Tara know if you are available to do an hour or half hour shift.  

This is the 32nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament put on by the Penfield Rotary Club, Penfierld/Perinton Kiwanis Club and the Town of Penfield on June 17, 2024, at Shadow Lake Golf Club.

The day of fun begins with lunch at 10:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Dinner will occur after the tournament at approximately 5 p.m. Tournament registration is ongoing, and sponsorship opportunities are available. If you are not interested in golfing, you can still participate in the day by purchasing a dinner-only event ticket.

Golf Putting on GreenProceeds from the event will be used to assist community organizations such as Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, Mary Cariola, Penfield High School's Don Mack Scholarship Fund, Penfield Shepherd Home, Bethany House, Villa of Hope, Boy Scouts of America, Penfield Little League, and various local food pantries. 

Golfers and new tournament sponsors must register by Memorial Day, May 27th. Previous sponsors without golfers or dinner-only registrations are due by June 3.

9:15 - Parade Line up in the Penfield High School Parking lot (if you didnt take the bus)

Note: NO PARKING permitted at the high school for vehicles that are not in the parade. Parking for parade participants will be available at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt and limited parking at the Community Center, 1895 Baird Rd. Shuttles maybe available.

Two volunteers needed each week to help distribute the food from the district grant project.

Celebration of Life in loving memory of Don Milton. Food and refreshments will be served throughout the celebration. Join the family and friends to share stories and favorite memories of Don.
