Catered Lunch: $5 Guest Speakler: Ron Dougherty, Executive Director of Raise a Glass Foundation The Raise A Glass FoundationTM is a registered NY 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help save and improve the lives of adults and children around the world. We accomplish our mission by collecting and donating to deserving charities a valuable asset – thousands of award-winning bottles of wine, beer, and spirits – which they use in their fundraising galas, dinners, auctions, and other events. It would be very difficult if not impossible for a single charity to solicit such a collection of award-winning bottles from producers around the world. We remove that barrier by hosting truly international competitions – with entries and professional judges from over 25 countries. At the end of the competitions, all the unopened bottles (thousands!) are categorized and donated to deserving charities for their fundraising events. If you have a question or would like to speak with someone in our Foundation, please call 585-414-8279. |

Nov 09, 2021 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Catered Lunch: $5 Guest Speakler: Ashley Whipple, Owner of Optimum Life Holistics; She will be speaking about eating to improve immune health. Good for this time of year! I started Optimum Life Holistics to share my passion for healthy living and holistic nutrition with my family, friends and clients. I firmly believe we have more control over our health, through our nutrition and lifestyle, than we realize. Our overall health is intertwined with various aspects of our life: emotional well-being, nutrition, and physical activity, to name a few. Everyone should have the tools to live their optimum life - especially through their nutrition. Many people assume that eating healthy either means a big grocery budget, a huge time commitment or a personal chef. I strive to work closely with my clients to devise personalized meal plans that work for individual tastes, dietary restrictions and time commitments.
Working with nutrition professionals and health coaches can be a costly out of pocket expense that many people cannot justify spending these days. I am working to fill this void by offering reasonably priced, personalized meal plans, in addition to 1:1 nutrition coaching, so that everyone can feel empowered to take control of their health.
Ashley's Background Growing up in Penfield, I was active in sports throughout my youth, but never gave much thought to nutrition and its effect on our bodies. After leaving the area for college, I returned with my husband, Chris, in 2010. My health journey began when we started our family. Like other moms, I want to give my boys the healthiest start possible. As I began to learn more about the negative effects of the Standard American Diet on our health, coupled with our high exposure to toxic chemicals in food and the environment, I became passionate about sharing this knowledge with family and friends. This passion led me to enroll in the Holistic Nutritionist certification program through American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA). I now work actively in the community to share the science-based evidence which promotes the benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet. I work one-on-one with clients, create personalized meal plans, as well as, offer classes through local community centers and businesses. When not teaching and sharing about the benefits of a holistic lifestyle, I enjoy being outside with my husband, Chris, and our two boys, Eli and Owen. Playing sports in the yard, hikes around the Rochester area, and bike rides along the Erie Canal are favorite family activities. I also enjoy my new hobby - organic gardening. |
